Privacy

Giving Evidence protects the privacy of our clients and people we deal with. The information you provide us is only used for the purposes set out in this policy.

How We Collect, Store and Process Your Information

We only hold personal information for people who have subscribed to our newsletter or 24a036f97589fd6e223f8f125450f05bwho have approached us about working with us.

Newsletter

If you would like to subscribe to our newsletter, you may do so here. We will hold your information for two years, or until you ask us to remove your name and details from that distribution list and destroy it. You may unsubscribe from such communications at any time.

Recruitment

We often need freelancers and encourage relevant people to get in touch.

We will hold the information that you provide (which, for obvious reasons, normally includes contact details and details of previous employment) for five years, or until you ask us to remove your name and details from that distribution list and destroy it.

Only designated team members will have access to these files.

We hold this information only so that we can contact you when relevant opportunities for working with you arise.

Client information

We hold client contracts, invoices, information about payments etc. for at least seven years, as required for purposes of inspection of our accounts by HMRC.

We retain information about client meetings and the work developed and delivered to clients also for at least seven years, because it is often needed even a surprisingly long time after the engagement concludes.

The same is true for material we gather e.g., from interviews with academics or funders conducted in the course of client engagements. All such interviewees are clearly informed that the discussion is in the course of client engagement.

All of this information is subject to the policy below.

Sharing Your Information

We do and will not share your information with other parties without your express written permission.

Your privacy rights

You have the right at any time to ask us for a copy of the information supplied by you that we hold. We may ask you to verify your identity and for more information about your request. Where we are legally permitted to do so, we may refuse your request and will give you reasons for doing so.

You also have the right to ask the company to stop using your information, or to delete your information altogether. However, there may be cases when we may have the legal right to refuse your request – where we are unable to comply with your request, we will provide reasons for doing so.

You can find more information about your privacy rights on the Information Commissioner’s Office website: https://ico.org.uk/for-the-public/
